You are the apple of HIS eye!
In Isaiah 139: 13-16 it says: For it was You who created my inward parts;
You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will praise You because I have been remarkably and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, and I know this very well. My bones were not hidden from You when I was made in secret, when I was formed in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw me when I was formless; all my days were written in Your book and planned before a single one of them began.
We are remarkably made. Science proves it in so many ways. God fashioned each of us each uniquely. He loves us with an everlasting love. His love for us goes beyond our wildest imagination. Yet, in all of this so many of us are unhappy with who we are, the person God created. We are also disappointed in features that were given to us and wish we were like someone else. Many have spent thousands of dollars trying to change themselves. But, would you consider that God, in His supremacy, created you exactly as you need to be. If we could get around our insecurities about ourselves, our life would be so much better, our relationships would be better and we would be at peace. We would be able to see past ourselves and help someone else who is hurting. In Zechariah 2:8 we are called the apple of God’s eye. Wow, the creator of the universe thinks we are the greatest thing! Let’s start believing it about ourselves.
You are loved, you are chosen, you are uniquely fashioned, you are the best!
Daily Prompt: Disagree
Disagree…Hmmm. Well I guess my very first thought is that I disagree with the philosophy of millions that as human beings we are free to do whatever feels right to us and it is okay and if we are a good person, we will go to heaven. Although God created us with a freewill, there are laws and rules set in place for a purpose to make our lives more fulfilled, more peaceful, more healthy. Take the 10 commandments, for instance. These laws set in order by God, if followed, will make for a better society. See, if we love God and truly follow hard after Him, we will want to treat others with love and respect because that is what God is, LOVE. Can you imagine a society with no murder, no stealing, no coveting, no adultery, honoring parents, no lies, no taking the Lord’s name in vain, no idolatry, taking a day of rest in honor of HIM, and loving HIM with all our heart, mind, and strength? WOW, that would be awesome.
And, about going to heaven if we are “good”, the bible says that JESUS IS the WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE and NO ONE comes to the Father but by HIM.

Daily Prompt: Unfinished
When you get to the end of your life, do you want to have things that are unfinished??? Most of us would answer NO but then why do we put important things off? We live our lives as if we will always have a tomorrow. So, we let things go. We procrastinate. What if we lived our lives as if there were tomorrow. Loving, doing, giving, going, forgiving TODAY. Don’t leave things unfinished. God help us all to deal TODAY! We aren’t promised tomorrow. So choose life today! Choose JESUS today! Choose love today! Choose forgiveness today!
Daily Prompt: Fragile
Fragile…..Hmmmm. We, as human beings, are fragile. We think we have it all together, that we are strong, that we cannot be broken. Life then happens. Someone does something or says something that breaks our hearts. Something tragic happens and we seem to fall all apart and find it hard to hold up under the stress. Turns out we are fragile and we are sometimes weak. Good news is, HIS (God’s) grace is sufficient for me and HIS strength is made perfect in my weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). He gives me grace and strength to get through all the tough times. It is okay if I am fragile because HE has strength for the both of us.
Daily Prompt: Slog
There are so many people who are slogging through life. Continually doing the same thing and yet somehow wanting different results in their lives. Whatcha thinkin’? If you want a different outcome, you have to do something different. Yes, like is difficult and we keep on but some things in our lives we can control and we can change. Jesus said that the thief (satan) comes at us to steal, kill and destroy us BUT HE came that we might have life and have it more abundantly. Life where you are NOT continually slogging through. Need a change, come to Jesus. He is waiting for you!!
Daily Prompt: Perplexed
Perplexed…Paul says in 2 Corinthians 4:6, “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair.” Paul faced severe hardship because of his sharing and preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. There are situations in our life that make us feel like we have no way out or that we have no hope. We can save us? The one and only Jesus Christ. HE said that in the world we would have tribulation but to be of good cheer because HE has overcome the world (John 16:33)!
The World Needs a Superhero!
What is your definition of a superhero? Someone who swoops in to fight crime, to make the world a peaceful place?? It is said in the Bible, “Greater love hath no man than this than a man lay down His life for His friends (John 1 5:13).” Is there a better superhero than that? A man who was fully God and fully man who came to earth to live, to die and to raise back to life for YOU. He came to be our sacrifice for sin, our reconciliation back to God. You see we have all sinned (Romans 3:23) and we all fall short of the glory of God. Our righteousness is as filthy rags before our Holy God (Isaiah 64:6). We can’t earn our way into the kingdom of God. No one comes to the Father, in Heaven, except through Jesus Christ (John 14:6). All we have to do is believe in who He is and what He done for us and receive the salvation that comes through His blood that was shed on the cross, repent or confess and turn away from our sin. It is that simple. A superhero like no other, the man Jesus Christ. Taking away our sin, bringing peace as only He can give, and restoring a right relationship to God! What are you looking at???
In Luke chapter 9, Jesus encountered some folks who said they wanted to follow Him. But before they could go with Him they needed to go back and do this or that. Jesus then said, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.” In other words, when we set out to work for Him, we need to have our eyes set straight ahead on Him and have both hands on that plow.
It is easy though, isn’t it? To keep looking back. Some things we find hard to let go of, to leave. Some things in our past are hard to get past. But this is not God’s will for us. Once we come to Jesus, acknowledge who He is, recognize who we are (sinners), repent (turn completely away from our sin), and choose to follow Him, He makes all things new. Old things are passed away. We become a new creation. ( 2 Corinthians 5:17). His blood cleanses us, Holy Spirit then empowers us to change, to let go, to move on. Paul said in Philippans 3:13 this one thing I do, forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead. See God has a plan and purpose for each of our lives. This is what lies ahead (not to mention our ultimate goal that lies ahead, eternity with Him). We have to fix our eyes on Jesus and not look to the right or the left for He is the source and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). Keep your hands to the plow and look straight ahead.
Satan would have us to constantly be looking back, wants us to turn back, to let the chains of our past bind us and keep us from moving forward. BUT it was for freedom that Christ came to set us free (Galatians 5). He came that we might have life and life more abundant (John 10).
Press forward in Jesus name. Let us keep our eyes on Him, set our hands to the plow and fulfill our calling. This world is in need of Jesus so let’s get busy for Him.
In the world, a little over 80% of the population believe in a higher power, a supreme being. About 63% of people believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God. A fewer number of people believe the Bible is factually true. Where do you stand?
Romans 1:20 says, “For since the creation of the world his invisible attributes–his eternal power and divine nature–have been clearly seen, because they are understood through what has been made. So people are without excuse.” This scripture states that the existence of God is evident in creation and those things around us and we cannot say that God does not exist.
So, if God exists, which is obviously true, then HIS Word is infallible. HIS Word is factually true. No one has been able to discredit it. Prophecies from a very long time ago have come to pass just as God predicted through the power of Holy Spirit. John 1:14 says, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us (Jesus), and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” Psalm 119:89 says, “Forever, O Lord, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens.”
The message of the Bible is one of love and redemption. God’s love and redemption toward mankind. Mankind was created in God’s image. We were created to have a relationship with Him. We see this in Genesis in the Bible. When man chose to believe the serpent rather than God this caused a separation between God and mankind. Everyone thereafter was born into sin. Psalm 51:5 says, “Indeed, I was guilty when I was born; I was sinful when my mother conceived me. “
God immediately made a plan by which mankind could be reconciled to Him. In Genesis 3, we see God promising the serpent (satan) that a man would come forth from the woman and bruise his head or basically defeat him and the sinful nature. After the fall, we see that offerings and sacrifices being made to God for the sin of people. People were incapable of being good on their own so sacrifices were continually made.
All throughout the Old Testament in the Bible the coming of JESUS was foretold. A coming Savior that would take away our sin and restore our relationship to God. Approximately 2000 years passed before the coming of Jesus Christ to earth. We see the record of his conception and birth in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in the Bible. He came to be our sacrifice for sin, once and for all. He came, He lived and performed healings and miracles and preached the truth of God’s Word. People could not accept His message of repentance and could not accept who He said He was. He then was beaten beyond recognition and hung on a cross. It was apparent what His purpose was by what He spoke and how He prayed to God the Father. The weight of the sin of the world was upon His as he hung on that Cross. But, it didn’t end there. Jesus rose from the dead after three days and later ascended to heaven right in front of his disciples eyes to forever be at the right hand of God. Death had no hold on Him.
The repentance message He preached was simple and is still the same today. Acknowledge we have a sin problem. Acknowledge who Jesus is, the one and only Son of God that came to be our sacrifice for sin, our reconciler to God. He is the only way to heaven. John 14:6 says, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. “ Acts 4:12 says, “And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
Romans 3:23 says that we have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 6:23 says that the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 10:9 says, “Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Acts 3:19 says, “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.”
So this salvation is a gift from God. It is not something that we can earn. Salvation only comes through Jesus Christ. So the plan is simple:
Acknowledge you are a sinner
Acknowledge that Jesus is God’s only son was sent to die for your sins
Repent (which means to confess and turn away from) of your sins
Accept the forgiveness of your sins
John 1:9 says that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness. The blood that He shed for us cleanses us and makes us clean. We become a new person, a new creature according to II Corinthians 5:17 which says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” HE makes all things new! He gives your rest for your soul!
The prayer is simple,
Father God, thank you for sending Your Son to die on the cross for my sin. I believe that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life for me. Lord, I realize that I am a sinner in need of a Savior. I ask you to forgive me of all my sin and to cleanse me with the blood of Jesus by the power of Your Spirit. Come into my life. Make me a new creature in You. The power of sin is broken in my life in the name of Jesus Christ. Holy Spirit come, fill me, lead me, guide me and direct me into all truth. Thank you, Jesus, for saving me and thank You for loving me. AMEN!
It is that simple.
