WHAT’S THE USE??

Have you ever felt that way? I think many of us, if we are honest, feel that way more often than we want to admit.

Let us look at Jesus’ life. On a daily basis He was mocked and rejected by many around Him. Even though He taught the truth of God’s word to crowds and His own disciples, they didn’t get it. When it came down to the end of His life on earth, He was weighted down with the sin of the world. No, I mean REALLY weighted down. So much so that His sweat was drops of blood. He was beaten beyond recognition and hung on a cross with a crown of thorns on His head. Killed. For what? FOR YOU. I am so thankful that He did not feel like “What’s the use?”. You see, He came with a purpose. He knew what his purpose was and even though it was not easy, NOT EASY AT ALL, He carried on with His Father’s plan. He was in complete unity with the Father and wanted to be obedient to Him.

Are you aware of His plan for you? What is your purpose? What are you destined for? According to Psalm 139, He knew us before we were even born and Jeremiah 29 says that He knows the plans that He has for you and they are good plans. Each of us has a unique, personalized plan and destiny given to us by God. Are you to busy to think about it?? Are you so frustrated because you are being attacked on every side and want to give up? His strength is made perfect in our weakness and He is calling out to us to press on. Keep our hand to the plow. Keep our eyes upon HIM. Seek out His will for you today.

What is the use?? Well maybe it is that person who needs someone to care, someone to listen, someone to share with them the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Maybe it is your child who needs your love and guidance. LOOK, purpose is right in front of you.

Father, help us to seek Your face and carry out Your will for our lives today and every day. Help us to see ourselves as You see us, Lord. Help us to commune with You and be so full of Your Spirit that our lives pour out Your love to those around us in Jesus Name.
